Victoria’s Secret Bras Cause Rashes & Hives - Could Result in Class Action Lawsuit

December 31st, 2008

Several women nationwide have come forward claiming Victoria’s Secret bras are causing severe bumps, hives, and rashes under their breasts. Many of these women have been loyal Victoria’s Secret customers for 20+ years. Victoria’s Secret is well known to provide high quality women’s lingerie products, including bras, at a premium price.

This potential class action lawsuit against Victoria’s Secret was prompted after a woman’s lawyer in Ohio had her recently purchased Victoria’s Secret bras tested scientifically in a laboratory, which revealed positive traces of formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is a critical ingredient in the production of hundreds of items that improve everyday life. However, little or no formaldehyde should be present in the final product.

In a statement sent to ABC News, Victoria’s Secret said it is investigating all of the complaints but will continue to stand behind its products as not containing formaldehyde in any of its bras or other undergarments.

The purpose of any class action lawsuit is to give the common man or woman the ability to take on the largest corporate or private entities, who can obivously afford the very best legal services, and have a chance of redressing the wrong done by these entities. It is important to remember that even though the actual damage or cost to the individual class member may be small, the illicit gain to the corporate entity can be huge if done to hundreds or even hundreds of thousands of class members.

The Humphreys & Peterson Law Firm in Texas is dedicated in protecting the rights of all consumers from manufacturers who sell defective products. If you believe that you may have purchased a defective Victoria’s Secret bra which has caused you an injury, it is important that you immediately contact a highly qualified attorney to protect your legal options.

Medical Malpractice Lawyer - Professionals in Cases of Medical Malpractice

December 30th, 2008

A medical malpractice lawyer is a professional who represents patients who have experienced negligence from healthcare professionals, which resulted in harm. In 1999, the Institute of Medicine of the United States had released a report that medical malpractice incidents have gone epidemic. After 10 years, the report still holds true. According to records, hundreds of thousands of American patients were injured each year due to medical malpractice. As many as 98,000 patients died due to all forms of medical negligence.

If you or your loved ones had been injured or died, a medical malpractice attorney can help you through the following actions:

* Evaluate your case or claim. In most law offices, claim evaluation services are free. You may ask legal questions regarding your claim and you will be given all possible options. Evaluation service is free.

* Create your plan of action. After evaluation, a plan of action will be devised, which usually starts by filing a lawsuit.

* Do settlement negotiation. Some defendants would choose to settle a case out of court rather than go on trial.

* Be your representative at trial. Your medical malpractice lawyer will work hard to get the jury award in your favor.

Time is important because cases of medical malpractice are regulated by a statute of limitations which differ from state to state. Injured patients will have a limited amount of time to file a claim against medical professionals. If you think any mistake had been committed by any medical person while attending to your needs, you must contact a medical  lawyer immediately.

Medical Doctor Background Check

December 25th, 2008

A patient seeking medical care may need some sort of physician background check to make sure they are going to entrust their health to good specialist’s hands. Quite a deal of information, such as credentials, certification, education, hospital privileges, professional memberships, malpractice or professional misconduct history, references etc. can be obtained by simple Internet search of publicly available records and free online databases.

Another way to find free doctor information can be by calling your state medical board. Most state medical boards do not charge, but normally they offer only limited background information on doctors. Free places allowing to research your physician’s professional background history also include your local library, American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), medical society according to the specialty, and American Medical Association - in case your doctor is a Member.

As you see, both Internet websites and offline sources offering FREE doctor credentials information are numerous, but you can hardly be sure such information to be comprehensive, detailed, and always up to date, though helpful.

From the other hand, fast screening of your doctor professional background history through continuously updated official centralized databases like the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) that contains all medical doctor malpractice judgments issued in the USA, is available only to licensed private investigators or PI agencies, and is not open for general public.

If not at once, then after running your own initial screening of your medical doctor background, it is advisable to order a comprehensive physician background report from a Private Investigations company possessing due expertise and specializing in the industry, asking them for a credible doctor background check that may include:

Bad Liposuction Refund - Can I Get a Refund If the Doctor Botched My Liposuction?

December 24th, 2008

Every liposuction case is unique, and obtaining a bad liposuction refund would depend on many factors. Obviously, if the results are not what you expected and you are not satisfied with the outcome of the surgery, you can make a complaint to the doctor and try to rectify the situation. However, prior to attempting to get a refund, it is important to reflect on the discussions you had with your doctor before you underwent the surgery. Were you told what to expect with regard to the results? Is the outcome as predicted? It would be difficult to ask for a refund if the results are exactly as the doctor said they would be. Nevertheless, you are entitled to make a complaint and inquire about a refund if you are dissatisfied.
